Just kind of testing the waters here. I work at a Ford dealership as a lot attendent/technician/just about everything man. As such, I drive a lot of cars, but most of them only briefly.

I had the idea today that I would love to talk about these cars. But, since I only drive them a short time/distance (think parking lot) a full-fledged review obviously wouldn't turn out good.

My idea is offering a short rambling on the cars I find cool. There most likely wouldn't be any pictures, unless I use an image online (honestly I could probably use images from our own site if it's a car we're selling.) I would just kind of talk about what I think of the car from my short time with it. I'm thinking it would go something like this:

2015 Ford Mustang V6

Today, we have the brand new Pony from Ford. It's also the official price measurement of Jalopnik! That's right, the V6 Mustang! Today I made a few discoveries with the car. One, it doesn't stay running when you leave it. After moving them to plow the lot, they apparently shut off without anyone realizing. I'm sure this is a designed feature, as the car runs great. The interior is nicely appointed in my opinion. Leather and soft touch materials just about everywhere. I also discovered, while doing some extensive research, that I couldn't find the line-lock feature in the track apps, although the V6 may not have it. I was curious. It does however have the other apps, like an accelerometer, timer for speed/distance, and a braking performance app. Another discovery is that it is a pretty composed car at low speeds in a snowy parking lot.

And that would be about how it goes. Just short thoughts on the car, because thats pretty much how I operate. It honestly would probably take me longer to write the review than I would even have had the car.

Most of the cars would of course be Fords, but I'd have to branch out at times. I do tend to drive a lot of the same cars, so I would only be able to say so much about one before it got old.

It probably wouldn't even be a daily thing. Just an occasional, "Hey I drove this and it was cool" thing. So, Oppo, is it a good idea? Or would I just be buried under all the other posts?

Seeing as you only get to drive them in parking lots, I would call the column "First Gear."

Oh! That would work! Although I do occasionally get into second gear on a really fast run/slow car

Maybe "Quick Cruise" for a name? "First Gear" is good too.

Sounds like a good excuse to take a bunch of test drives in cars you have no intention of buying. I might want to steal that idea. Or help. Or something.

Honestly, thats the best and worst part of the job. The best is getting to drive all kinds of stuff (I'm a Ford guy so it works nicely for me) but the worst is I fall in love with stuff that I can never afford. I have my eye set on a Race Red 5 Door manual Focus for that very reason- I drove it and fell in love with it. I had my eye set on a used PSD Super Duty too, but that was sold last week. Those were some sad goodbyes.

Perhaps even shorter entries with a pic of course, of something goofy or strange about the car you noticed in your 10 sec with it.

So I could probably get away with not even using complete sentences. "Leather seats." "Lots of plastic"

I'm just a car slut. You can ask my old racing buddies - I'll drive anything!

I like it. Interesting, short, and humorous. Also you seem to home in on exactly the type of thing I would be curious about.

Would I have tested it? Probably not. Burnouts aren't near as fun on the snow anyhow. I just wanted to know where to find it... for science.
